2026 NSWSDPA Deputy Principal PL Day

The NSW Secondary Deputy Principals Association invites all secondary Deputy Principals in government school settings to attend the 2026 Deputy Principal Professional Learning Day. The PL Day will be held on Friday 13 March at Rydges Sydney Central.

Head Teachers Secondary Studies in Central Schools are also invited to attend.

Registrations are via the Cvent link at the end of this message. Registrations close on Friday 20/2/2026 at 4pm.

The 2026 PL Day will feature keynote speakers Simon Breakspear and Selena Fisk. It will also provide access to a wide range of topical and interesting workshops and a panel of practicing DPs to focus on current and emerging issues. A promotional flyer is attached to this email.

The PL Day represents quality professional learning developed by Deputy Principals for Deputy Principals.

We are at a new venue for this event this year, located at 28 Albion Street, Surry Hills. If walking from Central Station, it is approximately the same distance as our previous venue, but in the opposite direction.

We have been liaising with Rydges to ensure that, for those of you who need overnight accommodation, the best rates are on offer.

Rydges Sydney Central has offered a 10% discount on their best available room only rates, subject to availability, for attendees. Once you register for the PL Day, call or email Rydges directly to make a reservation, quoting a block booking number. Rydges contact details and the booking code are included at the end of this email. Details of this offer will also be contained in your registration confirmation email.

We have endeavoured to keep costs low for schools at this time of financial constraint. As a result, the cost of attendance is less than last year.

For those who are not members, the registration fee includes Association membership for three terms (up until the 2026 Annual Conference at Panthers in September).

If you are a non-member, please do not register at the member rate. Your registration may be cancelled and your payment refunded. If you need, you can check your current membership by contacting me as set out below.

Attendance fees are:

• Members = $310
• Non-members = $460 ($310 + $150 membership)

Head Teachers Secondary Studies in Central Schools, who undertake a role similar to DPs but are not eligible for Association membership, are invited to attend at the Member rate.
